What barcode format should I use for retail products?

How do I get a valid UPC or EAN code?

What is Code128 used for?

What is the difference between 1D and 2D barcodes?

1D barcodes (UPC, EAN, Code128) store data in horizontal lines - limited capacity, wide format. 2D barcodes (QR, DataMatrix) store data in patterns - much more capacity, square format, can include error correction.

Why isn't my barcode scanning?

Common issues: too small (minimum size depends on format), poor contrast, blurry print, missing quiet zones (margins), incorrect check digit. Test scanning before mass printing. Our tool validates formats automatically.
